- Email: first of all, Dreamhost support usually responds within the first 24 hours after you make the ticket, I recommend this type of response for when you have questions that are not urgent, and you can take your time.
- Chat: this is usually one of the fastest ways to get an answer from Dreamhost support since as we mentioned before, this usually takes no more than 15 minutes. It is important to mention that through the chat we can also attach files, for example, we can attach screenshots to better explain our problem.
- Phone: finally, we have the option by phone, particularly we have not used this method, because the chat communication has proved to be very efficient, and we have not been in the need to communicate by phone.
What issues have they solved for us?
- Domains
- Registration of domains: first of all, they answered in a very good way all the questions we had about the registration of a .us domain.
- Domain deletion: We made the request to Dreamhost support to delete all the domain information, which in a very attentive manner we attended the request. Finally, after a few minutes and after explaining the situation, the domain deletion was already in process.
- SSL: Dreamhost offers the Let’s Encrypt service to add the security certificate to the websites hosted in their service, these security certificates are added manually from the control panel and are renewed automatically every 3 months, which is actually quite useful, because we don’t have to worry about renewing the certificates. However, there are times when the renewal is not done correctly and does not let us do the renewal manually, in this case, dreamhost support was very attentive and solved the problem immediately. Even so, we believe that there should not be this problem on the part of dreamhost and it could be seen as a negative point on the part of dreamhost.
- Change the php version: we had a problem with a plugin and normally the php versions are automatically updated by dreamhost, and this is a good thing, but there are some times when this can cause compatibility problems. First, we identified the plugin, later we identified the problem and finally we contacted dreamhost to revert to a previous version of PHP.
- Email: They have solved our doubts about email delivery, smtp client configuration, etc.
Cons
In general we have had very good experiences with dreamhost support, only that there have been times when we have had to solve the problem ourselves. Because of this we can’t say that it is a 10/10 service, but we can say for sure that it is a very good and competent service.

To summarize, we can say that the dreamhost support service is very competent in terms of problem solving.
Although there have been some situations where we have had to solve the problem ourselves, on these occasions they have always been very attentive and friendly when communicating with us. Subsequently, we believe they have very efficient response times, they have even solved problems for us late at night, which we think is a great plus to the service.
